CPR- The ASHI Basic Life Support program is intended to assist healthcare providers, including professional rescuers, in learning or refining BLS skills for patients of all ages. These critical, potentially life-saving skills include performing high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillation (AED) as a single provider and part of a team. BLS also includes knowing how to relieve foreign body airway obstructions.
First Aide -The ASHI Basic First Aid training program is minted for individuals who are not healthcare providers or professional rescuers but desire or are required to be certified in basic emergency medical care. There are no class prerequisites.
This training program aims to help students develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence to respond to a medical emergency.
Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS)- The Health and Safety Institute ASHI and MEDIC First Aid Child and Babysitting Safety training program are intended primarily for teenagers and others who plan to provide babysitting services for young children and infants. The program includes instruction on the business of babysitting, proper supervision, basic caregiving skills, and guidelines on how to recognize and handle problems that may occur. This program is not intended to meet any regulatory requirements for child care providers.
There are no prerequisites for taking the CABS program, but additional training in CPR, First Aid, and AED are highly recommended.
